Life experience degrees

Life experience degrees. Are they real degrees? You've probably have seen an advertisement for these degrees and you were not sure if they were genuine or not.

Are there any colleges which are accredited by agencies recognized by Council for Higher education (CHEA) that award degrees purely based on years of experience?

That advert or that email that you received probably indicated that the degrees are accredited which could have given you some assurance or confused you further depending on what you are looking for.

Further, you may have read this information from a classy website and you may have thought, if they have such a stylish website, then they must be offering genuine degrees.

The truth is that anyone can make a classy website with any information of their choice. If you are looking for genuine qualification that is recognized across board, online life experience degrees are a no go zone.

Do not be deceived by their claim of accreditation. Most of these if not all purported providers of degrees based on life experience are accredited by bogus accreditation agencies which they have created or have bought accreditation from bogus accrediting agencies specifically created to sell accreditation status to bogus colleges. Most if not all such providers are nothing more than degree mills.

The truth is that you will not get a college accredited by an accreditation agency recognized by CHEA or US department of education offering life experience degrees.

If you are considering pursuing a properly accredited degree online which will be recognized by employers and other institutions, you may take the following actions to avoid a degree or diploma mill.

  • Get to know if the institution is accredited and if accredited, by which accrediting agency.
  • Get to know if the accrediting agency is recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or the US department of education. Do this by visiting http://www.chea.org and http://www.ed.gov Why? this is because not all accreditating agencies are genuine. Some are just Accreditation Mills which have been set up by dubious colleges to cover for them
  • You can also do a quick search for accredited online colleges and universities by visiting
