How do i obtain the social media degree?

Reading about the introduction of social media degree as a course of study, i became interested and at the the same time sceptical in the sense that, this degree is alien to third world countries in africa. But at the same time it will be a very big opportunity for us in africa to contribute to it's social media industry, which has been under-developed. As one who has a diploma in mass communication from the university of maiduguri in north eastern Nigeria, i would love to know how;
(1)how this degree can be of benefit to me,
(2)how can i get access to the program and what are the requirements.
